The working principle of gas generator sets can be divided into two technical routes: internal combustion engine type and gas turbine type. The high-temperature and high-pressure gas drives the piston to move, and the reciprocating motion is converted into rotational motion through the crankshaft, driving the generator to output electrical energy. Gas turbine units use the Brayton cycle - air is compressed by a compressor and enters the combustion chamber to mix with gas for combustion, producing high-temperature and high-pressure flue gas that drives the turbine to rotate and do work. Taking Chuantou (Ziyang) Gas Power Station as an example, its two 740MW gas steam combined cycle units use waste heat boilers to recover high-temperature flue gas heat and drive steam turbines for secondary power generation, achieving cascading energy utilization.
